FONTANA — The ice covering Geneva Lake’s Fontana Bay is about two feet thick and honeycombed with small gaps beneath a crystal crust that is slowly receding. The spring equinox has come and gone, but the lake remains frozen and dozens of ice boats are idle on the bay, their sails slack and their runners sharp.
