E-Scow Up Bay Challenge Cup Regatta Report
Written by John Brown
The conditions for the Up-Bay Regatta were light with the wind coming from the ESE in the morning. The boat chop was a major factor throughout the day with some of the race course being in the channel, and it became very important to keep your power up. As the day went on the breeze continued to build and started to shift right. Boats were making both sides of the course work as the breeze came up, and playing the shifts on your side was critical.
The race committee did a great job firing off four good races, and it was much appreciated. Special thanks to my crew Peet Must, Beth Pokorny, and George Demand, they did a phenomenal job and I couldn’t have done it without them.
