National Class E Scow Association

Good day E Scow Sailors-
Promoting and Coordinating World Class sailing events require a considerable amount of work for volunteers. The NCESA understands running a successful event on the water requires constant communication amongst your assembled team to facilitate these efforts. When the big day, or long weekend arrives, and you’re ready to send the balloon up and get the regatta going, that needs to be celebrated, too.
I want to share some very exciting news for the Class. We are pleased to announce that the NCESA has hired 2 individuals that will be taking on the role of Communications Directors for the Class - with the purpose of helping regatta marketing, communications, and event promotion.
Rachel Goetting and Jessica Greene will be filling these positions effective immediately.
Rachel Goetting joins us from NJ. Rachel will cover the east coast and at-large fleets. Rachel is the Owner of Sailorcise - a sailing business that combines coaching, fitness, and nutrition to improve a sailor’s performance.
Jessica Greene joins us from Michigan. Jessica will cover western Michigan and the ILYA. Jessica is a college senior Furman University, is running the Crystal Lake Sailing School this summer, and was referred to us via NCESA BOD Pete Price.
It’s important to the class’s continued success that you get to know these two individuals right away, know what their goals for the class are, and help them with their important tasks whenever possible. Those tasks are centered on communicating regatta information - event reports, photography and other forms of visual content, such as video and drone footage. Please put a name with a face - and get familiar with both of these two ladies who will be striving to keep the E class information flowing fluidly, frequently, and freely along the multiple and different platforms of social media that most of us choose to embrace.
Some of Rachel and Jessica’s immediate goals for the 2019 sailing season are:
- Have regatta reports complete the Wednesday after the event.
- Increase frequency of posts
- Try video interviews at events
- Use video conference tool to recap an event
Beginning very soon, Rachel and Jessica will be reaching out to regatta chairs of events to introduce themselves and offer publicity and communication assistance for the event as well as from the event as it takes place. To assure timely and consistent reports of events both regionally and nationally, introductions of the regatta chairs and the Class Communication Director for the region should happen in advance of the event so that posts and pictures can occur in as much in REAL TIME as we can reasonably accommodate and stay in touch!
Please congratulate Rachel and Jessica on their new positions. We look forward to seeing their efforts help promote the class and keep us all connected.
