Champion of Champions 2026

About the E Scow:

The elegant and sleek E Scow is the pinnacle for high speed one-design racing for sailors in North America, from lakes and bays to protected ocean harbors. With 70+ boats regularly hitting the starting line at the National Championship, the E Scow is an ever-growing fleet driven by a design that’s always innovating for over 100 years. Unlike traditional sailboats with deep V-shaped hulls, the E Scow has a flat-bottomed, wide-beam hull. This shape allows the boat to plane easily, producing exceptional speed and regarding it as one of the fastest non-foiling sailboats on inland lakes. Despite its speed, the E Scow is tightly controlled by one‑design class rules. Boats are nearly identical in hull shape, dimensions, and sail area. With three or four crew members constantly hiking, trimming, and moving weight, success relies on crew skill, strategy, and teamwork making it an excellent boat for US Sailing's Champion of Champions. The National Class E Scow Association manages the class, their National Championship regatta, and members that span generations.
