There was no discussion about approving a manufacture since the headfoil is currently a part of the jib measurement.

I spent the summer in Madison and bounced between a few E scows at the beginning of the summer before getting a steady ride on a Melges 24. I sailed as a fourth several times and trimmed the spinnaker a couple of times.

I have been racing for the last four years, in the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association and out of Wayzata Yacht Club, Minnetonka Yacht Club, the University of Iowa Sailing Club, the Mendota Yacht Club, and UW Hoofers for a summer.

Can anyone tell me how an e scow would do against a sportboat such as a Melges 32? I get the impression that the e scow overall is slightly faster than a Hobie 16. Can anyone comment on the e scows speed compared to other boats? Thanks.

Out here in SoCal we have not e-scows. I'd like to modify an e scow for the ocean. From what I can tell and deduce these boats are very fast for monos especially in light air like we have out here. Can you tell me how an e scow would do against a sportboat such as a Melges 32?
